Chris Lawson BA (Hons), FNAEA, FICBA (Partner)

Chris started in Estate Agency in 1974. Formerly a partner with Stiles Harold Williams and having been with them for some 10 years, Chris left in February 1988 to start his own commercial estate agency & surveying practice. In 1998 a new larger office was opened in Uckfield to provide an improved level of service to the increasing number of clients in that area.

Chris has over 30 years of experience of commercial property in Sussex. He is currently a fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents and of the Institute of Commercial & Business Agents.Chris has served as President of Uckfield Chamber of Commerce in 1991, 1994 and 1996. He is a former Vice-Chairman of Sussex Heritage Trust and former Chairman of their Property Awards Committee. He is a member of the Uckfield and District Preservation Society.

Mrs Julia Lawson BSc (Hons) (Partner)

Following a career as a patent agent, together with a brief spell as a retailer, Julia started the business with Chris in 1988. Julia now handles the property management side of the practice together with administration, I.T. and accounts. During the 1990s Julia was secretary of Uckfield Chamber of Commerce for some 5 years.

Richard Oldfield, FNAEA, CCBT, FICBA

Richard joined the practice in June 2000 as a commercial property negotiator. He has a background in selling with over 25 years experience of business in Sussex. He is one of the few members of the National Association of Estate Agents in Sussex to have studied and passed their commercial estate agency course thus earning a certificate in commercial and business transfer.

Richard is a Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents and the Institute of Commercial and Business Agents and an associate partner of Lawson Commercial.

Bernard Smith BSc (Hons), Dip Arb, MRICS, FCIArb, IRRV

Bernard joined the practice in September 2003 as a full time chartered surveyor. He carries out a range of professional work including rent reviews, lease renewals, rating appeals, surveys and valuations. He also assists with the professional side of management matters as well as agency work. He trained in the National Westminster Bank estates department and has worked in a number of London based firms including Hamptons and Chestertons. Prior to joining Lawson Commercial he was a director of London surveyors Grant Stanley.

Garry Peltzer Dunn

Garry joined the practice in October 1989 as a Consultant Chartered Surveyor to deal with a the professional matters. He was formerly a partner in a Commercial and Residential practice and has over 35 years experience of Sussex property as well as working for over 10 years in London. He is a past leader of Hove Borough Council and is currently a councillor on the Brighton and Hove Unitary Authority.

Mrs Gillian Scarborough

Gillian joined the firm in January 2008 as secretary/receptionist.

Muppet (Sussex Mongrelo)

Sadly Muppet passed away in September 2011 after a long illness. She will be missed around the office.

Bart is in charge of staff fitness and agility.

Barney (Yellow Labrador)

Barney is the office bouncer together with special responsibility for floor hoovering and low surface sweeping.
